The grandson of the late Khan Saheb Syed Ahmed Mia, former chairman of Char Ishwar Union, and the fourth son of the late Machudul Haque Khan Khoka Mia, a respected and famous personality of Hatia Upazila of Noakhali, former deputy commander of Hatia Muktijoddha Sangsad, veteran Muktijoddha Didarul Islam Khan Tunu Daktar (75) passed away on Thursday night while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chittagong. At the time of his death, he was survived by two wives, nine sons and daughters, and many close relatives.
The funeral prayer of the deceased was held on the main road of Chhaydia Bazar on Saturday morning. After paying tribute to the heroic freedom fighter with state honors, a minute’s silence was observed. Later, he was buried in the family graveyard. Upazila Assistant Commissioner(Land) was present at the state farewell ceremony of the brave freedom fighter late Didarul Islam Khan.
