July Uprising Day celebrated with due dignity in Khulna

July Uprising Day-2025 was observed with due dignity in Khulna on Tuesday, paying deep respect to the memory of the July martyrs. On the occasion of the day, family members of July martyrs, injured July fighters and representatives of July fighters, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Khulna District and Metropolitan Unit, Divisional Commissioner Md. Firoz Sarkar, Range DIG of Police Md. Rezaul Haque, KMP Police Commissioner Md. Zulfikar Ali Haider, KCC Administrator, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saiful Islam, District Police Superintendent, District Council, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force, various government departments, educational institutions, leaders of professional-social-cultural organizations paid tribute by placing wreaths at the ‘July Shaheed Memorial’ at Shibbari intersection in the city in the morning. Special prayers are offered in mosques at noon or at convenient times for the July martyrs, and special prayers are offered in temples, churches, pagodas and other places of worship. Film screenings on the July Uprising are organized at important places in the city, including Shibbari intersection, Shahid Hadith Park, Moylapota intersection, Joragate, Gollamari, Khulna University adjacent area, Rupsha intersection, Notun Rasta. On the occasion of the day, the City Corporation organized a drawing, essay and quiz competition, discussion meeting, prayer gathering and prize distribution for students at the City Hall. Divisional Commissioner and KCC Administrator Md. Firoz Sarkar was the chief guest at the event. At the event, the Divisional Commissioner said, “Through the July Uprising, we have achieved a new Bangladesh free from discrimination and fascism.” The mass uprising is not just a mass movement, it is a renaissance. The Divisional Commissioner called on everyone to unite and maintain this achievement. The discussion meeting organized by Khulna City Corporation was chaired by KCC Secretary Sharif Asif Rahman and was attended by Chief Revenue Officer Rahima Sultana Bushra, Chief Engineer (Additional Duty) Mashiuzzaman Khan, Revenue Officer SKM Tashaduzzaman, KCC Executive Magistrate Kohinoor Jahan and others.
