For the first time in Gopalganj, a reception was held for students who achieved GPA-5 in SSC, SSC (Vocational)/Dakhil (Vocational) and Dakhil Examination-2025 at the initiative of the Deputy Commissioner. Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman was present as the chief guest at the event organized at Gopalganj Shilpakala Academy on Saturday (August 2) at 10 am in collaboration with Gopalganj Zilla Parishad. A “Meeting of Meritorious Students” was held for students who obtained GPA-5 in SSC and Dakhil equivalent examinations from 5 upazilas of the district. A total of 644 meritorious students of the district were awarded with honorary crests at the ceremony. At the reception ceremony for the meritorious students, Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate (Joint Secretary) Muhammad Kamruzzaman said to the students, “Absence of teachers and students during school and college hours without specific reasons is not desirable in any way.” He further said that everyone should be aware of improving the quality of education of students and maintaining discipline. It is desirable to become a humane person along with acquiring knowledge through education. You must love your country with all your heart, love your people, work for the welfare of your country, and you will play an important role in running your country in the future. The guardians of the meritorious students who attended this grand event for the first time in the district expressed their deep gratitude to the District Commissioner and demanded that this program of felicitating the meritorious students be continued every year after the publication of the SSC exam results. The reception was presided over by Gopalganj Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Salma Parveen. District Police Superintendent Md. Mizanur Rahman, District Council Executive Officer Amit Deb Nath, Gopalganj Government College Principal Professor Md. Ohid Alam Laskar, Gopalganj Municipality Administrator and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Golam Kabir, Gopalganj Government Girls High School and College Principal Shahnaz Reza Annie, and District Education Officer Khondaker Ruhul Amin were present as special guests. Teachers from various educational institutions of the district, meritorious students who achieved GPA-5 and their guardians were present.
