The general meeting of Bangladesh Puja Udjavan Parishad Kumarkhali Upazila Branch was held in Kumarkhali, Kushtia, with the aim of celebrating the upcoming Janmashtami and Sharadiya Durga Puja in a fair, peaceful and festive atmosphere. The meeting was held on Friday, August 1 afternoon at the local Sri Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu Akhra Temple under the chairmanship of Bangladesh Puja Parishad Kumarkhali Upazila Branch President (Acting) Chittaranjan Biswas and moderated by Joint General Secretary Shishir Kumar Biswas.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Kumarkhali, Bijoy Kumar Joarder, spoke as the chief guest at the meeting. Advocate Shankar Majumder, General Secretary of Bangladesh Puja Parishad Kumarkhali Upazila Branch, delivered the welcome speech and read the editorial report. Among others present and speaking at the event were Kumarkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Amirul Islam, Kushtia District Puja Udjavan Parishad General Secretary Advocate Joydev Biswas, Bangladesh Christian Association Kushtia District Branch General Secretary Rev: Bishop Zaker ALi Shuva, Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad Kumarkhali Upazila Branch President Sudhangshu Ghosh, Kumarkhali Gauranga Mahaprabhu Akhara Acting General Secretary Bishwanath Biswas, Rath Committee President Bishwanath Saha, General Secretary Subodh Kumar Saha, Bangladesh Puja Udjavan Parishad Member Bikash Ghosh, Brahmin Sangsad Kumar Upazila Branch General Secretary Sukumar Bhowmik, Cremation Committee President Sanjeev Chaki, Bablu Chakraborty, Sudev Karmakar, Murari Karmakar, Madan Kumar Karmakar, Kaya Temple Committee Leader Gopinath, Kumarkhali Municipality and 11 Union Puja Udjavan Parishad Presidents and Secretary, Sanatani Devotees. In the meeting, a comprehensive program was adopted to organize the grand celebration of Lord Krishna’s birthday on August 16th and organizational matters were discussed.
