The award ceremony of the design competition for the proposed DC’s Ecopark was held with the participation of students from the Department of Architecture of Gopalganj University of Science and Technology. The award ceremony was held at 9:30 am on Thursday (July 31) in the conference room of the Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner’s office. Gopalganj University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Hossain Uddin Shekhar was present as the chief guest at the award ceremony and announced the names of the winning design groups and presented prizes of Tk 50,000 and certificates to the winners. Other officials of the Gopalganj district administration, journalists, and students of the architecture department of Gopalganj University of Technology were present at the time. It is worth noting that after assuming charge in Gopalganj, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Kamruzzaman has already earned immense praise for his initiative to rescue 200 acres of Khas land from illegal encroachers at Kalna Ghat in Kashiani Upazila of the district and build a modern DC’s Ecopark with the help of LGED, BWDB, Public Works and Sewerage Department, as no such initiative has been taken before for the entertainment of the busy residents of Gopalganj. Therefore, the entertainment-loving general public and conscious circles of Gopalganj request the immediate intervention of those concerned to implement this project quickly.
