Police recover body of young man hanging from roof of building in Boalkhali

Boalkhali police have recovered the hanging body of a young man named Ali Sifat (23) in Boalkhali, Chittagong. His body was recovered from the roof of SM Tower in Kadhurkhil Chowdhury Hat of the municipality on Thursday (July 24). However, it is not yet known whether it was murder or suicide. The deceased was Sifat, son of the late Abu Jafar Sawdagar, a member of Jamtal Nuruchchafa, West Kadhurkhil. It is known that he completed his engineering studies a year ago. The deceased’s sister said that her brother, who has completed engineering, is teaching in the area. In the morning, he leaves the house healthy and normal, with no one arguing with him. Boalkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Lutfur Rahman said on his mobile phone that the body of a young man was recovered hanging from a pole in the Chaudhurihat area and sent to the morgue. It seems to be a suicide. No injury marks were observed on his body, his right hand was in his trouser pocket, and a knife was found in it. The family of the deceased Sifat admitted that they brought the knife from the house. The details will be known once the post-mortem report of the body is received, said the OC of Boalkhali Police Station.
