The official inauguration of a new educational institution named ‘Dr. Enayet Karim College’ was held in Malikanda village of Ujirpur upazila of Barisal. The main goal of this newly formed educational institution is to provide quality higher education opportunities to students from remote areas and reduce the dropout rate. The founder of the institution, Dr. Enayet Karim, presided over a function recently (July 5) and Barisal Division Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) and Barisal District Council Administrator Md. Sohrab Hossain officially announced the inauguration of the new college through prayers and supplications. Barisal Region Secondary and Higher Education Director Professor Md. Omar Faruk, Uzirpur Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Ali Shuja and Uzirpur Upazila BNP Senior Vice President SM Alauddin were present as special guests at the inaugural ceremony. The chief guest of the event was Barisal Divisional Additional Commissioner (General) Sohrab Hossain. He praised the initiative to establish higher education institutions in rural areas and promised the government’s support. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the quality of education and introducing work-oriented technical education to develop students into skilled professionals. The college’s founder and editor of The Daily Industry newspaper, Dr. Enayet Karim, said the college will soon provide training in languages and technical subjects to prepare students for job opportunities abroad. He also said there are plans to launch honors and master’s degree programs in the future. He called for increased cooperation from the government and relevant authorities to transform the college into one of the country’s leading educational institutions.
