In Joypurhat, in protest against the construction of shophouses adjacent to the boundary of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court and the threats to the honorable judges by outsiders, pro-BJP lawyers formed a human chain in Joypurhat on July 8, 2025. Lwayers’ forum leaders complained that anti-discriminationstudent movement leader tried to build shophouses illegally on court premises. With Adv ATM Mazianur Rahman, convener of the District Lawyers Forum the meeting was addressed, among others, by AHM Obaidur Rahman Chandan, assistant organizing secretary of BNP Rajshahi division, sadar upazila BNP president Adv. Hena Kabir, joint convener of the Lawyers Forum Ahsan Habib Chapal, member secretary Nazmul Islam Jani, member Noor-e-Alam Siddiquee. Lawyers alleged that the leader of the so-called anti-discrimination student movement, instigated by DC of Joypurhat Afroza Akhter Chowdhury, the construction of shophouses were being illegally built in the court premises. That is why they were holding a human chain program, they said.
