Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Gold Cup Football Tournament is being organized with the participation of 11 districts under the initiative of the Chittagong Divisional Sports Association. The first match of the tournament will be played at the Rangamati Mari Stadium on the afternoon of April 24.

Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md. Ziauddin will inaugurate the tournament as the chief guest.

This information was given press conference at the Chittagong Divisional Sports Association office on Tuesday (April 22) morning.

Tournament Committee Chairman and Additional Divisional Commissioner Sharmin Jahan and Member Secretary Shahnewaz Riton presented various information about the competition.

It was informed at the press conference that although 11 districts are participating in the tournament, it has been divided into two zones considering the geographical and transportation arrangements of the participating teams. ‘A’ zone includes Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and three neighboring districts and ‘B’ zone includes Comilla, Brahmanbaria, Chandpur, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Feni districts. The ‘A’ zone game will be held in Rangamati and the ‘B’ zone game will be held in Comilla. The final will be held with the champions of both zones. The date and venue of the final have not been decided.

Also present at the press conference were Chittagong Divisional Sports Association Member Secretary Md. Sihab Uddin, members Mohammad Hafizur Rahman, Syed Abul Bashar, Chittagong District Football Association President Shahidul Islam, Chittagong Metropolitan Journalists Union President Mohammad Shahnawaz and Chittagong Press Club Member Secretary Zahidul Karim Kochi.
