Due to the failure of the railway security forces in the eastern region, various misdeeds including theft are now daily news. Theft is continuously happening in the CGPY area. A total of three thefts were reported in the CGPY area within 2 weeks. Two days after the first Ramadan, 3 batteries were stolen from the Santing Engine-2226 again on Tuesday morning. In this incident, SLM Aftab Uddin and ALM Abdur Rahman, working in the Santing Engine, were suspended. It is learned that after both of them left the yard area around 3 am to eat Sehri, 3 batteries were stolen from the Santing Engine.

Aftab Uddin said that at that time, Naik Dulal of the Railway Security Force was in charge of the yard area. Many railway staff say that the battery was stolen due to Dulal’s negligence.

There are stories of dishonesty in Naik Dulal’s career in the yard area. For a long time, he has been doing various misdeeds there as a close person to Posting Havildar Jasim Uddin. It is also known that Naik Dulal collects money from all illegal transactions on behalf of Posting Havildar Jasim Uddin’s government. No one wants to complain about Jasim Dulal’s dominance, aggressive behavior, rude behavior, terrorist activities, or fear of being suspended in a dramatic manner.

When Jasim and Dulal were called about all these complaints, Jasim did not pick up the phone that day. But Naik Dulal got very angry with Shakil, a correspondent of the Daily Ajkal Khabor newspaper, on his mobile phone. Naik Dulal started abusing journalist Shakil in foul language on the phone. An audio recording of which has already gone viral on the internet.

When journalist Shakil could not reach Chief Commandant Ashabul Islam on the phone to complain about this, he informed Commandant Shahid Ullah that he knew about the battery theft. Regarding the indecent remarks made to the journalist, Commandant Shahid Ullah said that Dulal had done wrong. He also said that he would ensure his punishment. The next morning, March 6, he issued a notice in the name of Naik Dulal accordingly.

When journalist Shakil went directly to Chief Yard Master Abdul Malek to find out whether the thief had been identified according to the CCTV camera footage that day, he said that the theft was true. The Railway Security Force Posting Havildar Jasim Uddin came and took the CCTV footage from us. They can tell the rest.

When I went to CI Abu Sufian’s office to find out about the identity of the thief, I couldn’t find Abu Sufian in a responsible position and called him. Journalist Shakil said that when I called him multiple times, none of them picked up the phone.

The CGPY workers, fearing that the cat would get out of the bag if the thief was caught by checking the CCTV footage, avoided the theft in some way or the other in various dramatic ways. It is known through various sources that the members of the Railway Security Force and the permanent and temporary railway workers inside the yard are accomplices of each other in these misdeeds.

A team of journalists is constantly working on this issue to prevent the theft of state assets and to unmask the masked corrupt people there.

The investigation of the journalists revealed that sensational information has emerged about the incident behind the main incident. Many people commented that such thefts are happening one after another due to CI Abu Sufian’s irresponsibility. Due to the lack of qualified people to handle such a large area, there is a series of wrongdoings and misdeeds being committed there due to the control of the yard area by junior staff like Abu Sufian. Dulal Jasim –
Naik Dulal has been working in the CGPY for more than 8 years. He joined the rank of sepoy and has been in the same position till the rank of Nayak. For a long time, outsiders have been farming in the railway sections in the CGPY. According to various sources, Naik Dulal collects the money for renting the railway space. Various misdeeds are committed through Naik Dulal, who is involved in theft and distribution. In short, everyone in the CGPY knows Naik Dulal as the cashier of RNB.
Naik Dulal is a radical person. Even his own men are subjected to abuse and harassment by him. When he raised his voice against him, other staff were harassed. And behind all these misdeeds of Naik Dulal, there is the shadow of Posting Havildar Jasim Uddin.

Jasim Uddin is an influential member of the Railway Security Force. The shadow over his head was former Chief Commandant of Chittagong, Zahirul Islam. In 2021, after the video of him chasing local journalists and the public with stolen goods at the Pahartali Workshop went viral, he was transferred to CGPY. While working there, he was transferred to Cox’s Bazar on charges of missing the mint motor wires of a total of 3 engines of the 66 serial engine imported from abroad. His same misdeeds did not stop there either. After the list of extortion and misdeeds was reported in various newspapers, he was again posted as a Posting Havildar in CGPY as a reward instead of punishment. Being a close relative of the then Chief Commandant Zahirul Islam, Jasim has been unstoppable in various misdeeds ever since.

On March 6, a team of journalists went to the Chief Commandant and Commandant of the Eastern Railway Security Force with information about Naik Dulal’s latest indecent assault, posting Havildar Jasim’s single empowerment and various misdeeds, and said that they would look into both the issues from a responsible position. He also called CI Abu Sufian in front of the journalists and ordered him to take legal action against Naik Dulal. The Chief Commandant ordered a GD to be filed against Dulal for linguistic harassment. At this time, the journalists demanded exemplary punishment for Dulal. However, the journalists demanded that those who are dishonest with the state like Havildar Jasim and Naik Dulal should be posted outside the Eastern Region with proper legal measures so that they will not get the opportunity to commit various misdeeds immediately after going to their new workplace.

All the leaders of the Chittagong Reporters Association have condemned such unspeakable comments made to CRA member journalist Shakil. The CRA leaders and other journalists seek appropriate legal intervention against those involved in this behavior.
