A human chain was held at district Modernized Hospital intersection Joypurhat demanding reinstatement of civil surgeon Dr. Ruhul Amin, and cancellation the order of Dr.Swapan Kumar Biswas’s appointment as new civil surgeon, by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Joypurhat district unit, Nursing Students’ Community, National Doctors Forum and the general people. The speakers at the human chain held yesterday afternoon said that Dr. Ruhul Amin is one of the best health administrators in Bangladesh. He established the Sapahar Health Complex in Naogaon, his previous workplace, as the best health complex. In the same vein, he is working to improve the quality of health services in Joypurhat district and improve the health system. Already, visible changes in the quality of health services are noticeable in all upazilas. He has taken the initiative to start an ambulance service in the district through a private-public partnership at Tk 200 soon. At such a time, we do not understand any fascist plan to make him OSD. The participants shouted, “I will not accept the illegal OSD, I will not accept it.” The speakers said that he should be reinstated in his post immediately. On the other hand, the newly appointed Dr. Swapan Kumar Biswas is a loyal worker of the fallen Hasina’s fascist Awami medical organization Swachip and a former Chhatra League worker. In Joypurhat, a fascist friend will not be accepted in place of the development-minded people of the health department. They said we reject the posting of Dr. Swapan Kumar Biswas in Joypurhat. The students along with people here will be vigilant, and he will not be allowed to join here in Joypurhat in any way. The convenors of the Joypurhat branch of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Hasibul, Nibir, S Faisal Rafi, Yasir Arafat on behalf of the nursing students’ community, from NDF Dr. Ataur Rahman, Dr. Sohel Rana and on behalf of general people Imran Hossain addressed the human chain.
