The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has conducted a raid on three offices in the eastern region. During the raid, they found initial evidence of fake travel bills being raised. Several railway documents related to the complaint were seized during the raid.

An ACC team raided the Chittagong Divisional Railway office in Pahartali of the city on Sunday (March 2) afternoon. The raid was conducted to investigate allegations of raising travel expenses without bills and vouchers.

ACC officials said that the ACC recently received a complaint of raising travel expenses of about 1.5 lakh taka in the eastern region of the railway without bills and vouchers.

During the raid, the ACC team examined various documents in the Eastern Region of the Railway, the office of the Divisional Commercial Officer of Chittagong, the office of the Chief Accounts Officer and the office of the Divisional Establishment Officer and seized some documents.

Assistant Director of ACC’s Integrated Chittagong District Office-1, Sayed Alam, said, “We received complaints of railway officials collecting travel expenses without bills and vouchers. We have seen various documents. We found inconsistencies in various places. After verifying all the documents, we will quickly give a full report.”
