Police have arrested four drug peddlers, Imran Sunny Sikder alias Condom Sunny (30), Mehedi Sadi (38), Md. Warish (36) and Aftabuzzaman Momin (40), in Uttara, the capital, for allegedly smuggling foreign liquor.

They were arrested late on Sunday (January 26) from Gausul Azam Avenue Road at the intersection of Sectors 12 and 13 of Uttara. 13 bottles of foreign liquor were seized from them during the arrest. The arrested are Sunny alias Condom Sunny, son of Abdul Quddus of Baunia Madbarbari in Turag, Mehedi Sadi, son of Nurul Haque of Shelabunia village in Mongla upazila of Bagerhat, Warish, son of Liakat Ali of Jaser Abda village in Sadar upazila of Habiganj, and Momin, son of Fazlul Karim of Thanahati village in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi.

In this regard, DMP’s Uttara West Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Hafizur Rahman said on Monday (January 27) evening, “Based on confidential information, four people were arrested with 13 bottles of foreign liquor from the intersection of Uttara Sectors 12 and 13. They are professional drug dealers.”

He said, “After their arrest, a case was filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act. Later, when they were sent to court today, the court ordered them to be sent to prison.”

Meanwhile, police officers on duty in Uttara said that the arrested Sunny alias Condom Sunny is a Kishore Gang leader. There is a case against him for the murder of Adnan, the first Kishore Gang member in Uttara, the capital. He is also involved in various types of drug dealing including Phensedyl and Yaba. Apart from that, there are also old allegations of violence and extortion against him.
