(January 25, 2025) On the occasion of Youth Festival-2025, the National Gold Cup Under-17 Boys’ Level Football Tournament was held in Joypurhat. Joypurhat Deputy Commissioner Afroza Akhter Chowdhury inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest at Joypurhat circuit house ground on Saturday at 12 noon. Joypurhat Police Super Muhammad Abdul Wahab, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sabur Ali, district sports officer Arifuzzaman and invited guests were present at the time.
In the opening match organized by district administration and district sports organization, the Panchbibi Upazila team defeated the Khetlal Upazila team by 5-4 goals in the Tribeca. Although they lost the game, the players are very happy to participate in such a tournament at the district level. And the organizers say that such an arrangement is to produce players from the district level to the division and national level. The final match of this tournament, consisting of 5 upazilas and 1 municipality, will be held on the afternoon of January 28 at the Joypurhat Circuit House ground.
