Drugs sales daily in 20 Crores figures of TK
Entire society must come forward to keep students drug-free, there is one drug dealer in every thousand population in the country and drugs worth 20 crores are being sold every day, which is equal to 7,300 crores per year. This information was given by Director General of the Narcotics Control Department, Khondaker Mostafizur Rahman NDC.
He said these things as the chief guest at the anti-drug rally organized at the Chittagong District Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Saturday (January 25, 2025) and at the reception ceremony for students who obtained GPA-5 in the HSC examination.
He said, “Drugs are spreading terribly in Bangladesh due to the conspiracy of neighboring countries. No drugs are produced in our country. However, drugs are entering from neighboring countries through the border areas and sea routes. Law enforcement agencies including the BGB are making every effort to control drugs.”
Stating that 80 percent of drug addicts are youth and students, the Director General said, “To protect the young generation from the scourge of drugs, the administration should bring all levels of drug dealers, big and small, under the law. In addition, guardians, teachers and people from all walks of life should unite and participate in anti-drug activities.”

Through this event, the hope is expressed to spread the anti-drug message in the society and to create a better future by making the young generation aware.
