T20 cricket match of the divisional phase of the Zia Memorial Cricket Tournament 2024 is going to be held in Chittagong. Cultural programs, various formalities of the match including the inauguration will start at 10 am on Saturday at the Chittagong MA Aziz Stadium. The game will start at 12 noon. Former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team Tamim Iqbal will inaugurate the match. Moreover, central and local top leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party – BNP will be present at the opening ceremony.
On Thursday morning, at the pre-match press conference organized by the Zia Cricket Tournament 2024, Chittagong Divisional Management Committee at the MA Aziz Stadium Conference Room, the committee convener Mosiul Alam Swapan informed the journalists in detail about this.
It was informed at the press conference that this nationwide tournament has been centrally organized in memory of the great independence proclaimer and advocate of multi-party democracy, martyr President Ziaur Rahman. Two teams named Red and Green, consisting of former and current star players from Chittagong Division and players of various levels, will face each other on the field. The 10 winning teams at the divisional level will participate in the finals held in Dhaka.
In addition, City BNP Member Secretary Nazimur Rahman, City BNP Joint Convener SM Saiful Islam, City BNP Joint Secretary Kamrul Islam, Publicity Sub-Committee Convener Mesharoff Hossain Dipti and others also spoke at the press conference.
