A protest rally was organized by Ittefaqul Ulama in Srinagar to protest against the terrorist attack at Tongi Ijtema Maidan. The protest rally was held in front of the Srinagar Press Club at around 10:30 am on Thursday.
The protest rally, chaired by Srinagar Upazila Ittefaqul Ulama President Md. Zakir Hossain and moderated by General Secretary Mufti Shahadat Hossain Laskarpuri, was addressed by Upazila Islamic Movement President Md. Maksudur Rahman, Upazila Ittefaqul Ulama Organizing Secretary Maulana Ashraf Ali Qashemi and Maulana Md. Shah Jalal, Mufti Abdur Rahman, Maulana Md. Aminul Islam, Maulana Shariful Islam, Maulana Md. Kamruzzaman, Baten Abdul Baten and others. Srinagar Upazila and various union level leaders of Ittefaqul Ulama were present at the time.
The speakers said that they demanded punishment for the accused in the attack by Enayeti terrorists on innocent sleeping Muslims at the Tongi Ijtema Maidan late at night on December 17 and the killing of Muslims. The speakers concerned strongly demanded a ban on all their activities in Bangladesh.
