Two teenagers, Ashraful Islam (18) and Asim (17), were killed in a road accident on the Meghna Bridge on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.

The deceased were identified as Ashraful Islam, a resident of Madhya Baushia village in Baushia union of Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj, and Asim, a resident of Purachak Baushia village in the same union.

According to eyewitnesses, two people were killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a bus on the Comilla-bound road over the Meghna Bridge on Wednesday evening at around 6:30 pm. The two deceased were motorcyclists. The motorcycle hit the back of a passenger bus on the Meghna Bridge on the way to Gazaria from Mograpara intersection, killing them on the spot.

Humayun Kabir, in-charge of Bhaberchar Highway Police Outpost, said, “I heard that two people died in a road accident. I have sent the police. I will let you know if the incident took place in Gazaria or Sonargaon police station area.”
