Gender-sensitive disaster risk reduction and climate change training in Matlab North

In Matlab North Upazila of Chandpur, training was completed with the members of the Union Disaster Management Committee in the 2nd phase of the women’s capacity development dream to take productive and potential work opportunities.
On Monday (December 2), Union Parishad Panel Chairman-1 Md. conducted a day-long Farajikandi Union Parishad training on gender-sensitive disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in collaboration with Swapna Project. UP Chairman Engineer Rezaul Karim spoke as the chief guest in the training program under the chairmanship of Salahuddin. Training was provided by Project Officer Nasima Khatun and Faraji Kandi Union Worker Salma Akhtar of Swapn Project.
The training provided an idea about the implementation of Swapna project in local disaster risk reduction and adaptation to climate change. Common notions about gender. Bangladesh disaster risk management, management institutional framework and government guidelines. Responsibilities and duties of UDMC and role in implementation of the Dream Project. Decontamination of Union Parishad by plastic. He discussed in detail various issues such as pre-disaster activities and post-disaster activities.
