Despite completing all the preparations for the event, the Chittagong district administration has moved the Bijoy Mela from the Chittagong Outer Stadium. Considering the sports activities of Chittagong players and children and teenagers, Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam has decided that the fair will not be held at the playground.

It has been decided to move the Bijoy Mela titled ‘Chalo Durjoy Praner Anande’ from the Outer Stadium to the nearby CRB.

Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam said on Tuesday (December 3) that the Chittagong Outer Stadium is a traditional place of sports and a breeding ground for many talented players. The best cricketers of the country have been created by practicing on this field. Cricketers of this field have gained fame all over the world. The Chittagong District Administration wants to maintain the reputation of this field. That is why it has been decided to shift the Bijoy Mela to be held from the Outer Stadium to another place.

The Chittagong District Administration had announced to celebrate the seven-day Bijoy Mela at the Outer Stadium ground in Kazi Deuri. For that purpose, the event management company EA Associates, which is responsible for the fair, had almost completed the construction of stalls at the fair. In the meantime, the fair is being shifted from the playground to the laudable decision of the district administration.

CCC Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain welcomed the decision to shift the fair from the Outer Stadium. He said, Chittagong does not have enough playground. Even then, if this ground is used for the fair, it will be suicidal. He thanked the DC for shifting the Bijoy Mela from the Kazi Deuri ground to another place.
