Memorial meeting in memory of those killed in the anti-discrimination student movement in Rupganj

A memorial meeting has been organized by the Rupganj Upazila administration in memory of those killed and injured in the mass uprising of students and the public in July-August in Rupganj, Narayanganj. The meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Thursday (November 28) afternoon. Rupganj Upazila Executive Officer Md. Saiful Islam presided over the meeting and under the guidance of Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Purbachal region Ubaidur Rahman Shahel, Narayanganj District Additional Administrator Mashfaqur Rahman was present as the chief guest. Speaking at the event were BNP Central Committee member Mustafizur Rahman Bhuiyan Dipu, freedom fighter Kazi Moniruzzaman, Narayanganj District BNP General Secretary Alhaj Golam Faruk Khokon, Rupganj Circle ASP Mehedi Islam, Citizens Committee leader Junaid Azam Hridoy, Rupganj Jamaat Ameer Anwar Hossain, injured Nazmul Shahadat Munna, Awlad Hossain, father of the gunned down Towhidur Rahman Jisan, brother of Mahmudur Rahman Khan, Shahidul Islam, father of Farhan, and others. In this regard, the speakers said that the anti-discrimination movement of the students and the public is showing the dream of a new Bangladesh.Now is the time to build our country. If we remember the sacrifice of the martyrs and the cries of the injured, the nation can never go wrong. We must devote ourselves to building a humane country by abandoning all divisions and anarchy. Only then will the country be completely independent. At the end of the program, prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the souls of the injured and deceased students.
