To face the challenges of the 21st century, economist and social analyst Professor Anu Mohammad said that due to the extreme partisanship of the previous government, the universities were taken over by terrorists. The educational environment was being destroyed due to their various misdeeds. After the dictatorial government fled through the unprecedented mass uprising of the student population, the universities and halls became free from terrorism. A favorable environment for education has returned. The money spent by the government on a student comes from the tax money of the people.To face the challenges of the 21st century, students should focus more on research along with studying well. He said these things as the chief guest at the entrance ceremony of the students of Sheikh Hasina University (proposed Netrokona University) for the 2023-24 academic year on Thursday afternoon. Under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hasina University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khandaker Mohammad Ashraful Munim and moderated by students Rifat Rezwan Joy and Rikati Barua Rim, economist Professor Md. Nurul Haque, environmental scientist and climate expert Dr. Ahsan Uddin Ahmed spoke as special guests.
Sheikh Hasina University Registrar Dr. Mohammad Harun Or Rashid delivered the welcome speech. Sheikh Hasina University Treasurer Professor Dr. Anisa Parveen, English Department Professor Hafsa Akhter, Computer Science Department Professor Abdullah Al Siam, students Rajib Mia, Ishita Moumit, Mahid Khan Jiban, etc. spoke at the event, among others.The event began with the national anthem.
Later, everyone present stood and observed a minute of silence as a mark of respect for those killed in the anti-discrimination student movement and a wish for the speedy recovery of those injured.
