In Matlab Uttar Upazila of Chandpur, under the revenue budget of the Department of Fisheries in the financial year 2024-25, free fish has been distributed among the marginal fishermen affected by floods. On Tuesday (November 26) morning, the upazila fisheries department distributed 700 kg of fish to about 128 fish farmers in upazila Kalipur and Nishchintpur in the upazila parishad area.

Chandpur District Fisheries Officer Golam Mehedi Hasan was present as the chief guest in the fish distribution ceremony under the chairmanship of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Eki Mitra Chakma. Upazila Fisheries Officer Bijay Kumar Das, Assistant Director of District Fisheries Office Priyanka Saha, Fisheries Survey Officer Farhana Akhter Ruma and others were also present at the presentation.
