A memorial meeting in memory of martyred freedom fighters in Rupganj

A meeting and prayers have been organized in memory of martyred freedom fighters at the premises of Bholab Shaheed Smriti High School in Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj. The meeting held on Wednesday (November 27) was presided over by Shaheed Golam Rashid Bakul and Abu Mohammad Saim Smriti Sangha founding president Md. Monir Hossain Dewan. Rupganj Upazila Executive Officer Md. Saiful Islam was present as the chief guest.
The meeting was addressed by Rupganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Liaqat Ali, Bholab UP Chairman Alamgir Hossain Tito, General Secretary of the organization Wadul Bhuiyan, Bholab Union BNP General Secretary Moniruzzaman, Rupganj Upazila Muktijoddha Commander Shahjahan Mia, Joint Convener Chan Mia, Headmaster of Bholab Shaheed Smriti High School Alhaj Helal Uddin, Joint Secretary of Muktijoddha Sontan Command Jahangir Alam, Abdul Karim Master, Akhter Hossain, Fayez Ahmed, Monir Hossain Member, and others. The speakers at the meeting said, Freedom fighters are the best children of the nation.
Freedom fighters liberated this country with their lives and blood.
They should be given lifelong respect. They are the ones who brought the independent flag and map of this country.
Rupganj Upazila Executive Officer Saiful Islam said that although approval has been given to name four roads after four freedom fighters in Rupganj, memorial plaques have not been installed till date. The roads will be named after the four freedom fighters very soon. He assured of all-round cooperation to strengthen the freedom fighters’ organization.
