Protest march against Prothom Alo and Daily Star in Chattogram
Protest march was seen against the daily Prothom Alo and the Daily Star.
These incidents took place around 8 pm on Sunday 24 November.
According to local and police sources, at least two hundred people marched from the city’s Gate No. 2 area and gathered at the Pravartak intersection around 8 pm. They started shouting various slogans against Prothom Alo and the Daily Star. Upon receiving the news, a police team reached the spot. They left the place at that time.
According to another news report, a group of people, including students, protested in the Hathazari Madrasa area around 10 pm. At that time, they shouted various slogans against Prothom Alo-Daily Star.
Confirming the matter, Additional Police Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, Tarek Aziz, said that members of the anti-discrimination student movement were also among the marchers. Many strangers were also seen with them.
The police officer also said that the police are currently stationed next to the Prothom Alo office. He said the situation is under control. No one has been arrested or detained in the incident.
