Councilor Esrarul Haque orders shooting at students; Professional killer arrested
Former Councilor Esrarul Haque of the Central City Council hired a professional criminal to shoot at the anti-discrimination student and public movement. For this, a professional criminal named Touhidul Islam Farid was hired on a contract of 5 thousand taka.
On Friday afternoon, CMP’s Chandgaon Police Station arrested Farid from Kamalnagar area of Sadar, Satkhira district, on charges of involvement in the incident. There are 12 cases of gunfire, extortion, drugs and robbery against Farid, including 5 murders.
At a press conference at the CMP Commissioner’s office on Saturday afternoon, Deputy Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Md. Raish Uddin said that Farid was arrested from Kamalnagar area of Satkhira based on secret information. During the initial interrogation, he confessed to shooting indiscriminately at the student and public movement with a firearm. He fired 28 rounds of bullets at the anti-discrimination student-public movement.
The weapon he used is a Pakistani shooter gun and he has multiple weapons.
Our operation is ongoing to recover the weapons and bullets used. He is a professional terrorist and robber. There are 12 cases of gunfire, extortion, drugs and robbery against him in various police stations, including 5 murders.
The arrested Farid said that former CHC councilors Esrarul Haque and Mohiuddin Farhad hired Farid for 5 thousand taka to fire at the student-public movement.
As per the contract, he fired three to four rounds of bullets at the anti-discrimination student-public movement in the Bahaddarhat area on July 18.
