Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin has warned that the market will not be allowed to be held hostage by a few traders,
he said this in his speech as the chief guest at a meeting on the overall market situation, TCB’s overall product distribution activities and commodity prices at the Chittagong Circuit House Auditorium on Thursday morning.

The advisor said that the balance between demand and supply must be restored. Production must be increased. We want to increase the connection of more people to trade. Through this, the supply in the market will increase. At this time, he also said that no artificial crisis will be allowed to be created in the supply.

Addressing the traders, the advisor said that the traditional transaction structure must be changed. Transparency must be brought in the transactions. Our intention is not to identify anyone as a criminal.
Purchase and sale receipts must be preserved at all stages from wholesale to retail. He warned that the market will not be allowed to destabilize by leaving any opacity.

Sheikh Bashiruddin, mentioning that information is coming to us that DO and SO are being sold in Khatunganj, said, “Trade is now happening virtually, products are not being supplied. The tendency to make profit only by selling DO has increased. Business leaders will have to come out of this. No artificial crisis will be allowed to be created in supply.”

Tofail Islam, and Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Mohang Selim Uddin, Director General of the Department of Consumer Rights Protection Md. Alim Akhtar Khan, TCB Chairman Brigadier General Md. Mostafa Iqbal, DIG of Chittagong Range Md. Ahsan Habib Palash and student representative Jobayerul Alam Bari spoke at the event.
