SR Shariful Islam Ratan, Lalmonirhat

In Chaparhat market of Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district, there has been an allegation of stealing rice from the government’s special food friendly program (GR) and mixing it with local old rice and marketing it in new sacks. The allegation has been made against dealer Monidul Islam and his son Md Habib.
Locals have complained that they are stealing lakhs of taka through this crime.
Kaliganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sifat Anwar Tumpa said that if a formal complaint is received against dealer Monidul Islam and his son, action will be taken after investigation.
