Medical report in exchange for money

It has been alleged that Amtoli Upazila Health Complex RMO Dr. Tanvir Shaharia gave medical reports in exchange for money.
Md. Mahbub Alam Tuhin of Uttar Jharakhali village of Taltoli upazila made such allegations at a press conference at the Amtoli Journalists Union office on Tuesday.
The victim demanded immediate action against Dr. Tanvir Shaharia and hospital accountant Md. Anwarul Kabir.
According to the press conference, Mahbub Alam Tuhin, son of Md. Azizul Haque Sikder of Uttar Jharakhali village of Taltoli upazila, was seriously injured on the night of August 5 by neighbors Fazlul Haque Bachchu, Rezaul Islam, Md. Shanu Mia and Mojibur Rahman Khokon Howlader, Md. Milan Gazi and Shahin Howlader.
That night, Mahbub Alam Tuhin was rescued by his relatives and admitted to the Amtoli Upazila Health Complex.
The hospital’s RMO Dr. Tanvir Shaharia treated him and sent him to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Tuhin filed a case against six people in the Barguna Speedy Trial Court on September 2. The investigating officer of the case is Taltoli Police Station SI Gazi Mahtab Uddin.
The investigating officer of the case applied to the Amtoli Upazila Health Complex on September 3 for a medical report.
In view of that application, the RMO of the Amtoli Upazila Health Complex, Dr. Tanvir Shaharia, in connivance with the hospital’s accounting officer Anwarul Kabir, provided a false report in exchange for money.
Mahbubul Alam Tuhin was admitted to the hospital on the night of August 5, but Dr. Tanvir Shaharia’s injury report mentioned it on the night of September 5.
In addition, the report was submitted showing fake injuries without showing the actual injuries. Dr. Tanvir Shaharia and the accounting officer involved in the incident also demanded punishment. The victim patient Mahbub Alam Tuhin held a press conference at the Amtoli Journalists Union office on Tuesday.
Accounting officer Md. Anwarul Kabir of the Amtoli Upazila Health Complex denied taking the money and said, “I have no connection with this work in the emergency department of the hospital.”
