The illegal structure built by former Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed’s son Rakibuzzaman Ahmed and his family occupying about 2 acres of land next to Tushbhandar Railway Station in Kaliganj Upazila of Lalmonirhat. It’s evacuated by railway authorities.
In the afternoon, these illegal structures were vacated in the presence of railway officials. Earlier last year, the departmental land officer had visited the place twice for eviction of illegal structures. But the eviction campaign was hindered by the influence of the former minister.
Railway Divisional Assistant Land Property Officer Abdur Razzak said, ‘Illegal structures built on the railway site have been evicted. Such operations will continue.’
It should be noted that Nuruzzaman Ahmed became the State Minister of Social Welfare in 2016 and took charge as the Minister of Social Welfare in 2019.
