Mahabur Rahman, raid was conducted inside the rented house of the accused Mahabur Rahman at the end of Mubarak Ali’s residence under Pahartali police station, 02 wristwatches used by the police, 05 different brands of mobile sets used by the policemen of Pahartali police station. , 01 pair of Keds and 01 pair of civil suit used by police, 01 umbrella with police logo, 01 trouser, 01 electric kettle, 01 trimmer, 02 glasses, 01 raincoat used by police were recovered.
During extensive interrogation, he said that the stolen arms and some motorcycles of Pahartali police station were dumped in the pond near Bitak Bazar College Road under Pahartali police station and some government walkie-talkie sets and some hand caps were dumped elsewhere.
According to the police, based on the information, the Pahartali Police Station conducted a two-hour long search operation under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Division, Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiya, at 11:45 a.m. today at the College Road pond near Bitak Bazar.
02 burnt motorcycles used by policemen were recovered by throwing a net in the pond. Later, in the extensive interrogation of Md. Mahabur Rahman, he revealed the names of some associates. Based on the information given, he was arrested at 3:30 pm by raiding Railway Housing Society under Akbarshah police station to arrest his accomplice Noor Nabi (25).
When both the accused were interrogated face to face, they said that they buried a pistol inside the forest of Ispahani hill located at the end of Lane No. 02 on the west side of Farooq Chowdhury field under Akbarshah police station.
Later, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police, Western Division Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiya, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Pahartali Zone) Md Moinur Rahman and Officer-in-Charge of Police Station Md Babul Azad Sangiy along with the officers-force conducted an operation for an hour and a half in the forest of Ispahani Hills from 5:00 pm to show the arrested accused. A spoiled Nine mm pistol was recovered from Pahartali police station at 6:30 pm in the presence of local people.
Legal action against the arrested accused is under process, police said.
