One died of burns in a tank explosion at SN Corporation Shipyard

A worker named Ahmad Ullah (38) died of burns in the incident of a terrible explosion at Ship Breaking Yard SN Corporation in Sitakunda.
He died at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery while undergoing treatment on Sunday morning. Seven more people are still under treatment due to serious burns in this incident.
Member Secretary of Bangladesh Ship Breaker and Recycling Association Nazmul Islam confirmed the matter and said that out of 12 people who were burnt, 8 people died after being taken to Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute for advanced treatment.
At present, the condition of seven people who are under treatment there is critical. The remaining four are under treatment in the burn unit of Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
He said, after the accident of Shipyard SN Corporation, the activities of the yard have been closed on the orders of the Ministry of Industry. A three-member inquiry committee has been constituted.
Incidentally, last Saturday (September 7) there was an explosion in the factory called SN Corporation in Sonaichari Shipyard of Sitakunda. 12 workers were burnt and seriously injured.
