The train will not run until the rail—line is visible

Due to the flooding of railway lines at various places in Feni, Comilla, Brahmanbaria, the railway authorities have announced to stop all rail communication until further notice. As a result, train movement on the Dhaka-Sylhet-Mymensingh and Cox’s Bazar route from Chittagong has been suspended indefinitely.

On Saturday (August 24) this decision was announced by Saiful Islam Manager of Eastern Railway divisional.

He said that various railway lines in the eastern region including Mirsrai, Feni, Comilla are still submerged under 7 to 8 feet of water.

In this situation, it has been decided to stop the train movement. A train left from Chittagong on Saturday to see the damage to railways and stations on the ground.

If it returns, the next decision will be taken.
On Thursday (August 22), the railway authorities stopped train services from 12 noon due to worsening flood situation in Feni.

11 intercity trains run daily from Chittagong to Dhaka, Jamalpur, Sylhet, Cox’s Bazar and Chandpur. Apart from this, local and commuter trains run regularly in Chittagong’s Nazirhat, Cox’s Bazar, Chandpur, Dhaka and Mymensingh.
