The government will provide all kinds of support to the martyred and injured students in the anti-discrimination student movement – DC Chittagong.

Deputy Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman said that the district administration is trying to stand by the martyred and injured students in the anti-discrimination student movement.

He said this after meeting the injured patients during the student movement at Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Wednesday afternoon. About 35 people injured during the agitation have been treated at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, and 3 people have been sent to the National Institute of Ophthalmology in Dhaka for advanced treatment due to eye injuries. A round-the-clock monitoring team of two officers has been formed to attend to any urgent needs of the injured and monitor the overall situation. Today, the Deputy Commissioner visited the Chittagong Medical College Hospital to meet the students injured in the anti-discrimination movement and spoke to the doctors on duty as well as their treatment. He also interacted with the patients and their family members and assured them of their support. At this time, the district administration gave each person under treatment from Tk 10 thousand to Tk 20 thousand and financial assistance of Tk 3 lakh 90 thousand was arranged for a total of 26 people.
Additional District Commissioner (General and Education & ICT) Md. Sadiur Rahim Jadid, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) AKM Golam Morshed and officials of the district administration were also present during the visit.
