Students of Chattogram are shouting on the road ” Quota kobor de”
Students of different colleges including Chittagong University (CU) are protesting by blocking roads in Chittagong city to demand cancellation of quota.
Students occupied the city’s Dewanhat over bridge on Wednesday (July 10) morning as part of the road and rail blockade. After that from 1 pm the students took up position at the Tigerpass intersection of the city. Traffic is stopped on that road.
Cox’s Bazar-bound Tourism Express and Dhaka-bound Mahanagar Express trains did not leave on schedule due to the blocking of railway tracks under the Dewanhat Over Bridge in the morning.
However, around 1 p.m., the agitators moved away from standing on the railway line. The agitating students left the railway line and took a position at Tigerpass junction at 1 pm. By blocking the road there, the students are chanting different slogans demanding cancellation of quota.
Going to the spot, it is seen that the students are sitting in the middle of the road holding banners. Due to which the traffic on GEC to Agrabad road is closed. This is causing massive traffic jams on that road.
The agitating students said that their agitation will continue until their demands are met. However, the road and rail blockade program will continue till sunset.
