Police raided a gambling club in Khulshi police station of Chittagong city. 32 people including two ward Awami League leaders who organized the gambling game were arrested in the operation.

This gambling event was regularly held under the name Pahartali Club located on the 7th floor of Muntasir Tower at Wasar Junction in the city. Gambling equipment and cash were seized during a police raid.

Yesterday, Tuesday (July 2) at around 9 pm, Khulshi Thana Police conducted this operation. Khulshi police station OC Sheikh Neyamat Ullah confirmed the raid.

Khulshi police sources said; A gambling house was raided in a building in Wasa Mor area. During the operation, 32 people were arrested and gambling equipment and cash were recovered. Interrogation of those arrested is underway and legal action is in progress

Sources say; The list of 32 people arrested is local. Lalkhan Bazar Ward Awami League Labor Affairs Secretary Mizanur Rahman (50) and ward Awami League member Biswajit Chowdhury have been confirmed. It is alleged that Mizanur Rahman has been running this gambling club for a long time using party identity. Earlier also he was arrested once from this gambling event But with the intervention of the powerful, he was quickly released and started running the gambling business again.
