Chattogram DC said that the road will be widened within the next two months
Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman has given financial assistance to the families of the two students who died in the road accident
A total of Tk 20 lakh has been given to the families of two students of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) who died in a road accident. Chattogram District Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman handed over the check to the two dead students and the injured student and the sanctioned money in his favor at the Chittagong Circuit House on Thursday (June 13) around 1:00 p.m. Family members of the dead and injured students were present under the supervision of Additional District Magistrate AKM Golam Morshed Khan.
Deputy Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman said that the demand of the students was to widen the road and stand by the families of the victims. We have informed the Minister and Secretary of the Department of Road Transport and Highways and the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges. They gave a total of 10 lakhs of taka 5 lakhs for the dead students. 1 lakh for the injured student.
DC also said that CUET road will be widened within the next two months. We will send a proposal to the Roads and Highways Department to name this road after the two deceased students Shanto Saha and Taufikur Rahman.
Chattogram Road Transport Owners Association gave 2 lakh taka to the dead students and 4 lakh taka to the injured students. Apart from this, the families of the two deceased students have been paid a total of 6 lakh taka of 3 lakh taka by the Chattogram district administration.
Incidentally, two students of CUET Civil Engineering Department died after being hit by a bus while riding on a motorcycle at around 3:30 pm on April 22. The accident took place in Jianagar of Rangunia police station. Shanta Saha, a third-year student of Civil Engineering Department of Chuet, died on the spot and Toufiq Hossain, a second-year student of the same department, died on the way to the hospital with serious injuries. Apart from this, Zakaria Himu, a second year student of civil engineering department, was seriously injured.
