Chittagong Metropolitan Road Safety Committee meeting was held on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
Today 10 June 2024 Chittagong Metropolitan Road Safety Committee meeting was held in the conference room of Chittagong Metropolitan Police in Dampara. CMP Commissioner (Additional IGP) Mr. Krishna Pad Roy presided over the meeting.
On the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, it was decided to ensure orderly movement of motor vehicles leaving and arriving from various places including Dampara, Alankar, AK Khan, Katgarh, Oxygen Mor, Bahaddar Hat, Kadmatoli terminal in Chattogram city and to stop collection of excess fare of motor vehicles.
It is decided to stop the movement of rickety vehicles, unfit and defective vehicles and provide alternative means of hassle-free passenger transport.
The meeting discussed about stopping the movement of heavy goods vehicles on the highway before and after the upcoming Eid.
The meeting also decided to prevent passenger transport in goods vehicles to avoid accidents.
A productive discussion was also held in the meeting about giving the list of garment factories which will hire reserve bus for their workers for Eid trip to the concerned traffic department for verification with the cooperation of BRTA.
Mr. Masood Ahmed, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) of CMP, and Deputy Commissioners of Traffic Department of CMP were also present in the meeting.
BRTA Director Mr. Md. Masud Alam and BGMEA Director Mr. Mohammad Musa along with Divisional Commissioner’s Office, Civil Surgeon’s Office, Chittagong City Corporation, CDA, LGED, District Information Office, District Education Office, BRAC and representatives of various associations were present in the meeting.
