Chittagong ‘Kacchi Bhai’ food toxic chemicals
The Bangladesh Safe Food Authority has issued a warning and fined Tk 1 lakh tk to “Kacchi Bhai” at Wasa intersection in Chittagong city for using banned sauce and unfit for food Keora Jal, a toxic chemical harmful to the human body.
The operation was conducted on Tuesday (June 4) at the restaurant called “Kacchi Bhai” located on the 2nd floor of Muntasir Tower at Wasa Junction in the city. During this time, the prohibited sauce and the poisonous Keora water unusable in the food stored in the restaurant were destroyed.
Leftover meat mixed with rice was found stored in the restaurant’s refrigerator. Bangladesh Safe Food Authority in this regard.
Executive Magistrate Abdus Sobhan said, I have informed this institution several times before. I have talked about hanging guidelines to ensure safe food environment in the institution.
But they did not comply. Banned sauce was used in serving the restaurant’s food. They have been using toxic Keora water that is not suitable for food. Besides, stale chicken meat mixed with rice was found stored in the refrigerator of the restaurant. Bottles of banned sauce and poisoned Keora water stored in the establishment were destroyed. For all these crimes, the institution was fined Tk 1 lakh tk and warned.
