Kotwali Thana police recovered 1920 cartons or 19,200 packets of foreign cigarettes of different brands from the road at the entrance of Tinpul Matha Kachha Bazar in Riaz Uddin Bazar, Chittagong. This operation was conducted under the leadership of a smart team of Kotwali police station on 12-04-24 evening.

Kotwali police station arrested 2 persons with 12,000 packets of import-prohibited foreign brand silver and gold flavored ORIS cigarettes in 6 sacks, worth Tk 12,84,000 and remaining 6 packets of Malboro gold cigarettes worth Tk 8,28,000. . The arrested are Amirul Islam and Md. Abu Mucha.

The estimated value of recovered cigarettes is Tk 21 lakh 12 thousand. A case has been registered against the arrested accused under the Special Powers Act at Kotwali police station.
