Martyr Police Memorial College held annual sports competition

The annual sports competition and prize distribution ceremony of Shaheed Police Smriti College-2024 was completed on Saturday morning at the college ground in Mirpur-14, Dhaka.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) and president of the governing body of the college Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun BPM(Bar), PPM were present as the chief guest on the occasion. The special guest was the President of Bangladesh Police Women’s Welfare Association (PUNAK). Taiba Musarrat Janha Chowdhury. Anti-Terrorism Unit Additional Inspector General SM Ruhul Amin presided over the event.
DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman BPM-Bar, PPM-Bar and his wife Dhaka Medical College Hospital Junior Consultant and Residential Surgeon (Surgery) Dr. Wazed Shamsunnahar were present on the occasion.

Farooq AlamIn the Chief Guest’s speech remembering the martyrs of Language Month 1952, the IGP said that we got the right to speak our mother tongue because of language martyrs. Shaheed Police Memorial School and College was started in 1999 under the management of Bangladesh Police Force with the spirit of independence, education, morality and patriotism in mind. Since its inception, the institution has established itself as a reputed educational institution through modern and creative and quality education system. It is a matter of pride for the police.He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the students, teachers and parents for getting good results as a top educational institution in 2023 and seven students from this college getting chances in various government medical colleges.The IGP said that life has become beautiful and easy with the touch of modernity in the age of science. Mobile phone abuse and drugs can ruin lives. Currently, the biggest challenge is drug control. Drugs can destroy youth. The only way to get rid of drugs is to come together. He requested the teachers and parents to pay attention to family, social and moral values and discipline.Addressing the students, the police chief said that the country is moving forward at a fast pace under the leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister. He dreams of a developed, prosperous country in the year 2041. As citizens of that developed, prosperous country, you will lead and be ready to stand tall in the heart of the world.
The IGP welcomed and enjoyed the colorful parade and mesmerizing display of the students. Later the special guest and president distributed the prizes among the winners.Senior police officers, teachers, parents and students were present on the occasion.
