The anti-corruption commission’s operation has found allegations of taking Medicine from the store by writing the names of expensive drugs in the ward registrar’s book, even though it is not mentioned in the doctor’s prescription.

In response to complaints on ACC hotline number 106, Enamul Haque, assistant director of ACC coordinated office Chittagong-1, went on the raid on Thursday (January 11) afternoon.

Various anomalies were caught during the operation conducted under cover.  A raid in the emergency care unit of the hospital showed that even if the patient was not given the medicine, it was written in the registrar book kept by the nurse.

Even though there is no patient admitted to the bed, there is evidence of removing the medicine by showing the name of the patient and the same irregularity was found in ward number 13.

Even if the name of the drug is not mentioned in the patient’s prescription, it is in the nurse’s registrar’s book.  Minti Barua, the nurse in charge of the ward, could not give any answer when asked about this.

The ACC investigation team also questioned the senior staff nurse of that ward, Fatema Khatun. He  could not give any answer too about the matter.  The senior store officer of the hospital was with Dr. during the operation.  Muhammad Humayun Kabir.

After the operation, ACC officer Enamul Haque told reporters that we conducted an undercover operation at the hospital after receiving a complaint on the hotline.  In it, evidence of nine-six drugs was found.  Nurses are involved in the irregularities of these doctors.  A senior official of the hospital was also present during our raid.  He saw irregularities in medicines in the hospital.  We referred the matter to the hospital director.  He assured to take action.
