Various political parties including BNP believe that cyber security law will be more dangerous. The parties said in press conferences and separate statements on Monday that people would not accept the new Cyber Security Act instead of the Digital Security Act if it was essentially the same as a tool to stifle dissent, stifle free journalism and oppress.

‘Eyewash’-BNP under domestic and foreign pressure: BNP believes that the Cyber Security Act will be more dangerous and dangerous than the Digital Security Act. Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of the party said, I don’t think anything good will be done by the fascist government if it is in power. They did it as an eyewash under domestic and foreign pressure. Cyber security laws will become more dire and dangerous. He said these things in response to questions from journalists at a press conference organized at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan in the capital on Monday afternoon.

This law will also destroy freedom of speech-Islamic Movement: In a statement, the Secretary General of the Islamic Movement of Bangladesh, Principal Hafez Maulana Yunus Ahmad said, “If you are in power illegally, you are afraid.” Hence cyber security laws can be more dangerous and dangerous than digital security. In fact, it is all in the name of taking away freedom of speech. He also said that the fascist government made the cyber security law as an eyewash under domestic and foreign pressure. The government is doing whatever it takes to stay in power.

The provision of Tk 25 lakh fine is more dangerous than imprisonment-Nagarik Oikya: In a statement, the president of Nagrik Oikya Mahmudur Rahman Manna protested against the decision of cyber security law. He said that in view of the complaints of human rights activists, journalists and the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, the provision of imprisonment for media workers only is being changed by the provision of fine up to 25 lakh rupees and the provision of non-bailable clause is being changed to bailable. But the new law does not offer any protection to the common man. What will happen to those who do not have the title of journalist behind their name or position? Will they bail? What will remain the provisions of their imprisonment? For most people in the country, the provision of a fine of Tk 25 lakh is more dangerous than imprisonment. The people of the country will be speechless because of that fear.

Old things in a new twist-Revolutionary Workers Party: In a statement, Saiful Haque, general secretary of the Revolutionary Workers Party, said that the proposed cyber security law will not be acceptable to the countrymen if it is an ‘old thing in a new twist’. No way people will accept the new Cyber Security Act if it replaces the Digital Security Act as a tool to stifle dissent, stifle free journalism and oppress them. The restrictive digital security law is not a change of clothes, it is necessary to repeal all the clauses and sub-sections that are contrary to the recognized democratic right of public expression, personal privacy, investigative journalism, research and personal security.

People don’t accept repressive laws by different names-state reform movement: The state reform movement thinks that people don’t accept digital security laws or any other repressive laws by different names. This was informed in a statement signed by Pritam Das, member of the National Executive Committee of the party. It is also said that the government is planning to enact a new regulatory law called ‘Cyber Security Act’. To be clear, the people will not tolerate any new restrictive laws. If the government wants to enact any law without regard to public opinion, it will be resisted by the Durbar movement with the people.
