Torchlights and whistles distributed among volunteer guards in Gazaria
A social awareness meeting was held in Gazaria, Munshiganj, to build social resistance after the recent increase in theft and robbery incidents.
At this time, torchlights and whistles were distributed among local volunteer guards to strengthen security.
The event was held at Bhaberchar Eidgah ground in the upazila at around 12 noon on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
The event was held under the chairmanship of Gazaria Upazila Executive Officer Ashraful Alam, BNP Central Executive Committee Social Welfare Affairs Secretary and BNP party nomination candidate for Munshiganj 3 constituency Kamruzzaman Ratan, Gazaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge OC Anwar Alam Azad, spoke.
District BNP member Md. The program was moderated by Ishaq Ali and was attended by District BNP members Professor Gias Uddin, Rafiqul Islam Masum, Masud Faruk, District Krishak Dal convener Sirajul Islam Pintu, District Jubo Dal acting joint convener Muzammel Haque Munna, Bhaberchar Union BNP member secretary Nurul Amin Sarkar, among others.
The speakers at the program said that incidents of theft and robbery have increased in the area in recent times.
Therefore, security measures must be strengthened through public awareness and social initiatives along with the administration.
At the end of the meeting, 72 volunteers from each ward of 8 unions of the upazila were given flashlights and whistles.
They will serve as night watchmen in their respective areas and play a role in ensuring social security.
