Awareness Campaign Organized by “Nirapad Sarak Chai” Sunamganj District Branch
With the slogan “Let the road be of peace, not of death,” an awareness campaign was organized by Nirapad Sarak Chai (NISCHA), Sunamganj District Branch, to raise awareness about the importance of road safety. As part of the month-long program in October, the campaign took place on Friday at 4 PM near the Abduz Zahur Bridge in Sunamganj. During the campaign, leaflets highlighting the importance of safe roads were distributed among drivers, vehicle owners, passengers, and pedestrians, accompanied by direct awareness messages. The campaign was led by Md. Obaidul Haque Milon, Vice President of NISCHA, Sunamganj District Branch, with the active participation of other members of the organization. Briefings were given to drivers, passengers, and pedestrians on both sides of the bridge, explaining the need for road safety awareness. On behalf of NISCHA, Sunamganj District Branch, motor vehicle drivers were urged to obey traffic rules, check the mechanical condition of their vehicles before driving, and remain cautious throughout their journey. Vehicle owners were advised to bring their vehicles under regular fitness inspection, while passengers were requested not to pressure drivers unnecessarily and to remain aware of traffic regulations themselves. Pedestrians were also reminded of the importance of using zebra crossings while crossing the road. Among those present during the campaign were Mohammad Nur, Obaidul Munshi, Mainuddin, Abdul Bashir, Shafiul Alam, Md. Mohsin, Abdul Matin Pir, and Abu Huraira Fahim, along with other active members of the organization.
