A prayer was held at the playground of Sector 13 Welfare Association in Uttara, the capital, seeking the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. This event was organized by Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Joint Convener Muhammad Afaz Uddin on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 4:00 PM. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakrul Islam Alamgir was present as the chief guest at the prayer and gift distribution ceremony among the poor and helpless people organized to pray for the recovery of national leader Begum Khaleda Zia. In his speech as the chief guest, Mirza Fakrul Islam Alamgir said, “We can now breathe a sigh of relief because the murderer Hasina has escaped.”
Fascist Hasina fled after a public outcry a few days ago. Sitting in Delhi, he still says he will come back anytime. Murderer Hasina has emptied the hearts of so many mothers in this country. She has no remorse for how many people she has killed. Due to her sick economy, the prices of goods in the market have increased. At that time, he also said, “Even though Hasina fled, we still have not regained our democratic voting rights.” Mirza Fakrul Islam Alamgir said, “After August 5, we supported the interim government and said, ‘After minimum reforms, you should hand over power to the government elected through a democratic process through elections and voting.'” There is also a lot of talk about this now. We don’t want to see any more  disappearances like Ilyas Ali and Munna, we want to see a Bangladesh of love. We don’t want to see any occupation. He told the leaders and activists that difficult times lie ahead of us. To win the people’s votes in the upcoming elections, they must earn the people’s love. Please pray that Allah Almighty may heal our leader Tarique Rahman and bring him back to Bangladesh. Please pray that Allah Almighty may heal the leader of the country, Begum Khaleda Zia. We want elections to be held under a neutral government. The people of this country will not accept elections from within the government. At this time, regarding Afaz Uddin’s proposed demand, Mirza Fakrul Islam said, “Working in unity, you earn the love of the people.” He created an environment where people could work by being elected with the people’s votes. The program was presided over by Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Joint Convener Muhammad Afaz Uddin. Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Convener Md. Aminul Haque was present as a special guest. Also present as a special guest was Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Member Secretary Haji Mustafa Zaman. Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Senior Joint Convener Mostafizur Rahman Segun was also present. Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP joint convener SM Jahangir, who was present at the event, said, “We do not want a repeat of the way the country’s image was damaged during the fascist Hasina government.” We all want to work together for the welfare of the country. During the fascist Awami League government, we were unable to hold any kind of procession or meeting due to the oppression of the murderer Hasina. We must resist the ghosts of the murderer Hasina wherever we find them. He said, “Under the leadership of our leader Begum Khaleda Zia and under the instructions of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, we have worked for the people in our past lives and will continue to do so, Insha Allah.” Kamruzzaman, General Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Workers’ Party, was present at the event. Former Jubo League leader Shimul Ahmed was also present. At that time, Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Senior Joint Convener Mostafizur Rahman Segun said, “After the death of our beloved leader, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, nothing was found except a broken suitcase.” He also said, “BNP is not a politics of sacrifice, but of indulgence.” Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP member secretary Mustafa Zaman said, “God has destroyed the Awami League government because it held elections during the day and night, and has also driven Sheikh Hasina out of the country. Legal action will be taken against those who are harassing our leaders and workers with false cases.” He told the leaders and workers, “None of you should take the law into your own hands. BNP will work in the service of the people if it comes to power through elections.” Special guest Aminul Haque said, BNP is a humanitarian party, BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has kept our leaders and workers active in the movement for the past 17 years by encouraging them. Under his instructions, BNP leaders and workers have sacrificed their lives in the fight against fascist Hasina while working towards restoring democracy. At that time, he called on the interim government to establish a people’s government through elections without delay.
He said, “We want to reshape Bangladesh in a new way under the instructions of Tarique Rahman.” At this time, the president of the event, Muhammad Afaz Uddin, said, “Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP is determined to follow every instruction of Tarique Rahman honestly.” He further said that out of the eight landowners affected by the acquisition of land by the royals in Uttara, nine hundred awardees have not yet been allotted the affected plots. He urged the Chief Advisor to allocate plots in their names as soon as possible. He also demanded the establishment of a government hospital and a government university in Uttara. Afaz Uddin also said that it is very important to allocate permanent land in the name of the 18 Sector Welfare Associations of Uttara.
At the end of the program, Mirza Fakrul Islam Alamgir personally distributed winter clothes, saris, and lungis among the poor.
