Sajim Shine, Durgapur (Netrakona)

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 963 bottles of Indian Phensidyl without owner in Durgapur Upazila bordering Netrokona. A mini truck used to transport these drugs, which are banned from import, has been seized.

This information was given by Netrokona Battalion (31 BGB) Commander Lt. Col. ASM Kamruzzaman (PBGM) in a press release on Sunday (January 5) afternoon.

He said that on Sunday morning at around 5:30 am, based on its own intelligence information, a patrol team of Naluapara BOP (Border Observation Post) under 31 BGB conducted an anti-drug operation. The patrol team signaled to stop a mini truck while it was moving in the Gopalpur area of Durgapur Union, approximately 500 yards inside Bangladesh from the border pillar 1161 of the BOP’s area of responsibility.

At that time, the truck occupants abandoned the truck and fled. The patrol team searched the truck and was able to recover 963 bottles of Indian Phensidyl without an owner from the tray installed under the truck body. The seized mini truck along with the imported banned narcotic Phensidyl will be handed over to the Narcotics Control Department, the BGB official said.
