Latiful Azam Kishoreganj (Nilphamari)

Headmaster Bojlur Rahman has embezzled money from various development projects of North Baravita Dangapara Government Primary School of Baravita Union of Kishoreganj Upazila of Nilphamari.
On Sunday morning, the headmaster of the school went to the ground and found that the government allocated for the repair work in all the polling stations that needed repairs during the National Parliament election on January 5 this year.

In that light, the Department of Education allocated Tk 1 lakh 50 thousand for the repair work of North Baravita Dangapara Government Primary School.  The headmaster withdrew that money and embezzled nearly lakhs by constructing a nominal latrine and electrical wiring.

On the other hand, every year the school allocates 10,000 taka for various toys, carpets and mats for the students (pre-primary) learning activities.  The headmaster embezzled all the money without buying any goods from that money. In the last fiscal year 2022-23, the Department of Education allocated Tk 50,000 for the annual development plan (SLIP) and Tk 10,000 for pre-primary. The headmaster embezzles the remaining money by doing some nominal work from that money.  Similarly, despite the allocation for the financial year 2023-24, he has embezzled money without doing any work.
Upazila Assistant Education Officer Ruhul Amin, who is in charge of the respective cluster, does not need accountability for these works. He visited the school once a month but no action was taken against him.

When the headmaster Bojlur Rahman was asked what he bought with the allotted money, he said, I have all the allotted papers and vouchers at home. You will let me know later and I will show you the paper. When asked why there is paper at home, the head teacher said, if there is paper at home, where is the problem?
Upazila Assistant Education Officer Ruhul Amin said, I have asked him to purchase goods with the allotted money. He asked me for time.
When the upazila education officer was informed about this, he asked to call the head teacher but the head teacher did not take the words of the education officer into consideration. On the contrary, the head teacher said, the education officer will call me if necessary.
