Maternal death occurred due to wrong treatment against private Alo General Hospital in Ishwardi. In protest against the incident, allegations of assault and beating were received during the human chain of the relatives and during the protest. Based on these complaints, the Pabna Civil Surgeon office has announced the temporary closure of the hospital. This human chain and protest took place in front of Alo General Hospital on Ishwardi Hospital Road on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the complaint source, Antara Khatun, the pregnant wife of Fazle Rabbi of Ishwardi town area was admitted to Alo General Hospital on January 4. On the same day in the evening, the owner of the hospital, Dr. Masuma Anjuma Dana, and her husband, Dr. Shafiqul Islam Shamim, resident doctor of Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex were subjected to caesarean section. Immediately after the seizure, if the patient’s condition is critical, they are sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital through the hospital ambulance. Then she died there.

Also, Mama Al Amin complained that Zima Khatun, the daughter of Ahmad Hossain in Sara Jhowdia area, died due to the wrong treatment of the doctors in the same hospital.

Relatives alleged that the patient died due to improper anesthesia and wrong treatment by the doctor. They complained about this and did not get any remedy on Wednesday. At around 12 noon, the protest procession started from Fazle Rabbi’s house and they went in front of Alo General Hospital and tried to form a human chain. At that time, the hospital authorities led by a hospital employee attacked and beat them. Later they formed a human chain in front of Ishwardi police station and press club.

The patient’s husband Fazle Rabbi and mother-in-law Jannatul Ferdous Runu said, “The hospital authorities asked us to go outside to buy medicine for the seizure. We came and found that the patient had already been taken to the operation theatre. The operation is arranged for the patient with their medicine without taking our medicine. During and after the operation the patient screams bachao bachao because the anesthesia is not done properly. The hospital authorities hastily conducted the operation. Seeing that the patient’s condition was bad, he was taken out of the hospital, saying that he would be taken elsewhere. The patient died on the way to Rajshahi. We want a fair trial. So that no one else dies like this.”

Dr. Masuma Anjuma Dana and Dr. Shafiqul Islam Shamim, accused in this regard, could not be contacted. Dr. even upazila health complex. Shafiqul Islam Shamim was not found. However, an employee named Abdullah Al Mamun spoke to the journalists with the overall responsibility of the hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station Rafiqul Islam said, “We have received a complaint. Complainants are expected to arrive at night. If a case is filed, action will be taken based on the investigation.”

Pabna Civil Surgeon said that the hospital has been temporarily closed due to this incident. Shahidullah Dewan. An inquiry committee will be formed in this regard and further action will be taken through fair investigation.

Upazila Health Officer Dr. Asma Khan said, the accused Alo General Hospital has been temporarily closed by the written order of the Civil Surgeon’s office. There will be an investigation on this matter.
