In Kishoreganj of Nilphamari, the police have revealed the mystery of the murder of a young man named Morshed Islam (33) who was summoned for consuming gaja in anger on his sister’s name and breaking up his friend’s marriage.

The deceased Morshedul is the son of Ekramul Haque of North Durakuti Basopara of Kishoreganj Upazila. Kishoreganj police have arrested four people in connection with this murder. District Superintendent of Police Golam Sabur PPM gave this information at a press conference held at the conference room of the Superintendent of Police on Monday (October 2).
The arrested are Badsha Alamgir (31) son of Mamunur Rashid of North Durakuti Masterpara area of Kishoreganj Upazila, Ibrahim Islam (19) son of Saiful Islam of Basopara area, Salim Mia (27) son of Nuruzzaman alias Pelku member and Anarul Islam (30) son of Mamud Ali of Maynukuri area. ).’
Superintendent of Police said in the press conference, “The victim Morshedul and the accused were Gaza servicemen. They used to smoke gaja together like friends. There was a dispute between them over money transactions. Murder victim Morshedul spread false information that accused Ibrahim’s sister had run away and got married and broke the arranged marriage of accused Selim. Besides, the defendants planned to discipline Morshedul for not returning the money from other defendants. Based on the said incident, on the night of August 24, accused Ibrahim bought Gaza and called Morshedul over the phone to consume it. According to the plan, Morshedul was brought to Gaza Seban and attacked Morshedul with sharp weapons and killed him. The accused tied him up like a sack with the clothes he was wearing and buried him in the sand pile of digging Dhaijan river near Karbala Danga in that area.
Superintendent of Police Golam Sabur said, ‘Police recovered the body of an unknown person three days after the death. After that, as the body was not identified, the police filed a case as plaintiff. After observing various things, the family assumed that the deceased person was Morshedul. Since then, the police have started an investigation to find out who is involved in this murder. Then on September 23, Badsha Alamgir and Ibrahim were arrested on September 24 from the Pallabi police station area of Dhaka, and on September 27, Salim and Anarul were arrested from their homes. Among those arrested, Ibrahim, Salim and Anarul confessed their involvement in the murder under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
